FE Careers

FE Careers is the largest job advertising site in Further Education, Work Based Learning and Employability sectors. It also has a Job Advice section, which includes practical advice, tips and videos on how to successfully get into and progress in a career in FE.

 

A Guide for Older Jobseekers

A resource which offers clear information and advice to older jobseekers, although it is useful for jobseekers of any age.

 

What Employers Want

This website provides information, advice and activities to support young people to get a job and progress at work. All the material is based on feedback from employers about what they look for when recruiting a young person.

 

The Buzz at the icould

An online personality profile quiz devised by David Hodgson, suitable for all ages. The icould website is primarily a careers resource for young people, and a repository for inspiring careers videos.

 

TUC

The TUC website includes reports and other information about older workers, most recently about health and safety, and the “Age Immaterial” campaign and blog about women over 50 in the workforce. There are sections on equality and discrimination.

 

Fab after Fifty

Provides information on volunteering overseas.

 

Voluntary Service Overseas

Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), are actively looking for people of all ages with skills or professions that are needed in the developing world.

CSV is a volunteering and learning charity that provides information for older volunteers

 

Social Enterprise

Social enterprises are businesses that trade to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment.
